Growth Habit: Medium growth habit, does better in well drained friable soil.
Story
Attractive small tree, ideal as street tree, tolerant to adverse conditions, with spectacular summer flowers that cover the top of canopy in summer.
Its papery bark has aerial roots pushing through it, giving it an attractive stem architecture.

Horticultural Information
Preferred Conditions: High moisture content in summer.
Tolerances: High tolerance to waterlogging, compacted low nutrient soils and smog. Moderate tolerance to lime content, and coastal conditions.
Useful Life Expectancy (ULE): Medium, rarely above 90 years
Flowering Characteristics: Born terminally on stems, 3cm long, containing up to 20 fluffy flowers, stamens and petals are white in colour, from late spring to early summer.
Features: Foliage, leaves are narrow and linear, arranged opposite on stems, 2-3cm long and 1-3mm wide.
Points of Interest: Strong flowering habit, modest size and tolerance of a wide range of conditions, requiring little maintenance.
Additional Notes
This type of tree has a dense out canopy, casting heavy shade; it retains fine dead twigs throughout its internal canopy. The removal of this dead material can really enhance the look of this type of tree. This is time consuming maintenance and rarely performed by owners and never by councils.
